Constantly changing natural light can paint even commonplace subjects with stunning intensity.  These passing scenes capture me and inform my art. Recreating these moments with the illusion of realism helps focus attention, so we can more fully appreciate the eternal in the temporal, the universal in the ordinary. Accordingly, my paintings originate with my digitally altered photos or sketches, which are displayed beside my easel like virtual plein-air scenes.
