Online on-demand digital printing has changed the publishing industry. Through companies like Kindle Direct Publishing, a part of Amazon.com, authors and illustrators can publish their work independently and it will be printed only after a sales order is placed. There are no large inventories or upfront  costs and creators receive a royalty with each purchase.
